Job Title: Senior Android Developer
Job Location: Chicago, IL
Job Type: 100% Remote
Job Duration: Long term contract
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Hands-on experience building scalable backend systems.
- Experience working with remote data via REST, JSON, and HTTP.
- Familiarity with Android Jetpack components.
- Eagerness to help shape the direction of Android development.
- Dedication to continue learning, growing, and tackling new challenges.
- 5+ years of experience in Android app development.
- Proficiency in Kotlin and Java programming languages.
- Strong understanding of Android SDK, Android Studio, and other development tools.
- Experience with mobile app architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON, and XML.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with automated testing and Unit Testing.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Understanding of cloud message APIs and push notifications.
- Knowledge of Android UI design principles and patterns.
- Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with third-party libraries and APIs.
- Published one or more applications on the Google Play Store.
- Ability to transform user requirements into scalable solutions.
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools like Git.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment tools.
- Excellent initiative, innovative thinking, and root cause analysis skills.
