Who we are:
The Driver License Examiner for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in our Portland, ME area is professional services licensing work involving the administration of examinations to applicants for commercial driver licenses, Class A, B, C, motorcycle, and school bus driver licenses. Work activity may be performed outside in all types of weather, including inclement rain/snow conditions or excessive heat. In addition to English language fluency, fluency in any of the following languages: Arabic, Dari, French, Khmer, Lingala, Pashto, Portuguese, Somali, Spanish, Vietnamese, and other central and west African dialects is desirable. Normal work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Upon successful completion of qualification training, you will be provided a state vehicle for official travel purposes as well as uniforms and an annual uniform maintenance allowance.Statewide travel is required.
