BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: This is maintenance and personal services work in a remote recreational environment in the Penobscot River Corridor (PRC). Typical duties include resource protection, rule enforcement, campsite maintenance, collecting fees, repairing facilities as needed, monitoring public use, responding to incidents, and maintaining equipment and records. The person in this position will assist other PRC districts as needed. The person in this position will be trained and certified in Wilderness First Aid, and chainsaw operation.
The person in this position may supervise a small number of employees and volunteers. This person must be able to live and work independently in remote conditions and must be able to, safely and efficiently, operate a range of equipment including vehicles, motorboats, radio systems, canoes with and without motors, chainsaws, and other power and hand tools.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and/or experience in park maintenance and operations or equivalent.
LICENSING/REGISTRATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: (These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class): Valid Class C Maine motor vehicle operator’s license.
