Meta is seeking a Visiting Researcher through a short term contract to join our Generative AI Team, a research to production team focused on making significant progress in AI and being a bridge between AI research and Meta Platforms products.

The individual should work on projects in advancing the field of Generative AI by making fundamental advances in technologies to help generate media, interact with and understand our world. We are seeking individuals passionate in areas, such as deep learning, computer vision and generative AI. These efforts would be complementary to the student’s PhD work and hopefully lead to a joint publication.Visiting Researcher, Generative AI Responsibilities

• Perform research to advance the science and technology of intelligent machines.
• Perform research that enables learning the semantics of data (images, video, text, and other modalities).
• Develop algorithms and models based on state-of-the-art computer vision and machine learning advancements, especially in the areas of generative AI (e.g. image, video, 3D generation, etc).

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
• Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree in the field of Computer Science, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
• 2+ years of extensive experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches.
• Experience manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources.
• 2+ years of experience in machine learning and optimization.
• Familiarity with deep learning libraries, like PyTorch.
• Proven publications in computer vision or artificial intelligence peer-reviewed conferences (e.g. CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, or SIGGRAPH, etc.).
• Experience in theoretical and empirical research and in addressing research problems.
• Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with communicating complex research in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.
• First author publications in computer vision or artificial intelligence at peer-reviewed conferences (e.g. CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, or SIGGRAPH, etc.).
• Research and engineering experience demonstrated via grants, fellowships, patents, internships, work experience, and/or coding competitions.
• Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, trade-offs, and diverse points of view to determine a path forward.
• Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment.
• Experience communicating research for public audiences of peers.

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base salary, Meta offers benefits.
