Job Description

Then this role could be for you. We are looking for a Sr Data Automation Analyst to join our team focusing on delivery of cross functional designs and solutions. This role will be key to delivering transformation projects and efficiency improvements within existing workflows as well as delivering new data products to our clients.
We are looking for someone with a strong data focus, improvement mindset and project experience who is located in Edinburgh.
About you and how you can excel in this role
The successful candidate for this role must have a strong data background (including python) and understand the challenges of building modern data centric solutions. Proven experience of data transformation projects, working in cross functional development teams and the ability to articulate ideas effectively across all business areas is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Work with the research teams to fully understand requirements of any new workflows, or the most impactful improvements to existing workflows
Create documentation to provide clear understanding of processes and enable migration from legacy systems
Work alongside colleagues in our Central enablement, automation and engineering teams to design & build key workflow improvements
Understand the data landscape and elements of the data platform to be able to recommend solutions that enable efficient Analytics and Insight
Automate priority workflows and deliver efficiencies through connected datasets and integrated pipelines
Lead delivery of appropriately sized projects
Coach and mentor more junior team members (globally)
Demonstrate a passion for working in a high-performance and collaborative culture

Qualifications
Proven experience in data transformation and change projects
Strong knowledge of python, SQL, PowerBI and other languages/tools to support data manipulation and analysis
Experience working with databases (on-prem & hosted)
Experience in agile projects and cross functional teams.
Experience with agile project methodologies, documentation, and delivery
Good understanding and hands on experience with visualization tools (PowerBI preferred)
Excellent stakeholder, project management and communication skills
AWS knowledge is an advantage
About the role
This role will form part of the Central Product Enablement group and will work closely with our Research, Data and Product functions. The successful candidate will be help solve challenges around data pipelines, analysis and data quality.
The success of this role will require collaboration & problem solving. The core objective is to help migrate workflows from legacy systems & deliver internal efficiencies through data. Ensuring we have a supportive and inclusive culture within our team is essential.
Additional Information
We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant will be expected to be physically present in the office at least 2 days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment, but this may be subject to change in the future
Due to the global nature of the team, a degree of flexible working will be required to accommodate different time zones
