Job Description
- Studies specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
- Maintains holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines.
- Communicate and document anomalies to Group Leader/Shift Leader.
- Verify conformance of finished product to specifications.
- Maintain and manage the statistical process controls (SPC) database per QMM guidelines.
- Participate in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities within the area. Must be attentive and aware of machine anomalies as they occur.
- Provide feedback (CIP) to all related areas Machining, Assembly, Test and/or QMM.
- Cross-train on other functions within the team.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area as per 5S philosophy.
- Maintain safe work area and report any unsafe conditions.
- Participate in BPS Kaizen events both within and outside your area.
- Overtime may be required, sometimes with little advance notice.
- Perform other essential and related duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent from an accredited school (ex. PA Dept of Education, FL Dept of Education, US Military).
- Knowledge for both handling and usage of precision tools including, but not limited to: Calipers, thread gauges, bore gauges, micrometers.
- Able to be certified to run an overhead crane.
- Good interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to accommodate changes in production and work schedules in order to meet deadlines.
