Job Description
The Role:
The maintenance of accurate accounting records through ledger transaction processing and the reporting of financial results from these ledgers.
Main duties:
- General Ledger
- Liaise with Group Accountants in the preparation of the month end accounts
- Review, analyse and correct posting errors
- Provide variance analysis between actual results and forecast.
- Sales Ledger
- Raise sales invoices and ensure correct posting to accounts system.
- Chase Debtors
- Purchase Ledger
- Manage purchase orders through online purchasing platform, ensuring correct coding and timely receipts.
- Liaise with Group Purchasing to correct purchase order errors.
- Work with all staff in posting out of pocket and credit card expenses
- Data Management
- Support with the distribution of key performance data to stakeholders.
- Prepare data analysis reports for key stakeholders.
- Assist the Head of Finance on annual budgets, financial audits and ad-hoc requests
- Support other parts of the business with the financial requirements and process to ensure timely and accurate records are maintained and communicated.
Qualifications
What We Are Looking For:
- The ideal candidate will have broad experience within an accounting function, with practical experience of assisting with monthly accounts preparation.
- Degree educated or AAT qualified and with a further professional qualification or part qualification in accountancy
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving, analytical, technical, IT and numerical abilities.
- Confident individual with the ability to demonstrate solid communication and presentation skills
- Negotiation skills and the ability to influence others is important.
- A positive attitude with the ability to work as part of a team.
- Adherence to the highest standards of precision, accuracy and record-keeping
- Initiative and an ability to multi-task and plan work effectively to meet strict deadlines
- Competence in using Microsoft Office software including Excel and Power BI.
- Knowledge of Coupa would be advantageous but training can be provided.
- A flexible approach to working additional hours when required particularly during month and year-end
