Syngenta's Grangemouth Manufacturing Centre is one of our two award-winning manufacturing sites in the UK. The site was founded in 1919 and today employs nearly 400 skilled people in a variety of roles that include manufacturing, engineering, scientific and production support. Our goal is to operate “safely, reliably and cost effectively” and to help growers protect their crops and increase their yield.
At Syngenta Grangemouth we have four plants dedicated to active ingredient (AI) manufacture, and one finished product formulation and packaging plant with the most recent facility opening in May 2010.
Job Description
Responsible for the short-term detailed production plan and management of the 0-3-month capacity view for both confirmed and unconfirmed demands.
Work with FF&P Supply Chain Planner's to ensure appropriate balance between manufacturing responsiveness, cost efficiency and inventory holding, determining and implementing the need to hold safety stock.
Ensure accurate and timely consumption of materials takes place on MES / SAP interface to ensure an up-to-date reflection of current stock holding and manage inventory accuracy related KPI’s with the outsourced warehousing operations.
In a timely manner communicate with relevant supply chain and operational stakeholders of any production delays, material constraints and possible customer sales losses in order to reprioritise the plan and mitigate the potential business impact.
Ensure the effective introduction of new sales units and bulk material codes. This includes Bill of Materials (BOM) and routings etc. using data provided by Planning Manager or Production Managers - Effective Master Data Management.
Ensure optimized planning of production assets to ensure quality requirements are met, OTIF delivery of orders are achieved while waste generation and changeover downtime is minimized.
Ensure the correct AI sources are reflected in the BOMS, the correct stock is available and the prescribed levels of inventory is available to eliminate production interruption and minimize stock write-off.
Proactively communicate a possible negative impact on the production plan and revise production plans accordingly by collaborating closing with the relevant Area Production Managers.
Qualifications
Experience of production scheduling in a production and supply environment.
MRPII knowledge.
Product and manufacturing knowledge.
Understanding planning parameters, (master) data management & data integrity.
Experience of the key interfaces within the supply chain.
Managing risk and understanding trade-off.
Advanced capacity planning skills.
Understanding & application of basic IT and ERP tools.
Good knowledge and understanding of supply chain concepts and methodologies including MRP and APO.
Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft applications and SAP R/3.
A Degree or equivalent in Logistics, Sciences or Engineering is preferred but relevant experience will be considered.
