Jealott's Hill International Research Centre is situated in pleasant semi-rural surroundings between Bracknell and Maidenhead and is the place of work for approximately 800 Syngenta scientists and support staff. Jealott’s Hill is one of the main global research and development sites and key activities include research into discovery of new active ingredients, new formulation technologies, product safety, technical support of our product range and seeds research.
Job Description
We are pleased to share an exciting opportunity to join our global Shipping team based at our International Research Centre in Bracknell, Berkshire. As a Dangerous Goods Shipping Administrator, you will support our research operations, providing a vital role in ensuring the timely, safe and compliant global shipment of chemical and biological materials. A basic scientific background is preferred as there are some technical elements to the role, notably an understanding of units of measure and conversions.
Accountabilities:
As a Shipping Administrator you will be responsible for:
- Processing internal customer shipping requests, producing all relevant shipping documentation and labels.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant global shipping regulations.
- Engaging with internal customers on the prioritisation and scheduling of their shipment requests.
- Tracking the progress of shipments to destinations.
Knowledge, experience & capabilities:
- Strong organisational skills
- Able to multitask, prioritize effectively, and work to tight deadlines in a busy team environment.
- Diligent with a good attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer focussed.
- Good standard of IT literacy (MS Office, web applications).
- Previous experience in a shipping coordination role would be an advantage.
- Proactive in own development and a willingness to learn new skills and develop the role over time.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- IATA and/or ADR certification preferred but relevant training will be provided.
- Experience in import clearance procedures is useful but not essential.
