Job Description
We have an excellent for a Materials Handler to join Syngenta in Huddersfield. Working on a day-shift pattern, you will work safely and efficiently within a team to dispatch PDC (Paraquat Dichloride) in tankers and drums from a top tier COMAH plant. You will work flexibly to achieve business priorities, seeking to continuously improve all aspects of daily production and plant safety. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);
- Management of daily dispatch and delivery requirements to meet supply chain requirements.
- Filling drums with Paraquat on a dedicated packing line, including preparation of packages and equipment, and container loading.
- Managing chemical tanker loading from plant storage vessels.
- Co-ordinating and directing operations for final products and wastes, and despatch of final finished goods. These duties are carried out largely unsupervised and require self-management and prioritization.
- Performing in-plant quality control sampling and Asset Care duties.
- Managing stock control and assisting with waste management.
- Managing local PPE stores.
- Liaising with production support.
Qualifications and required experience
- Experience within a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Relevant qualification (or equivalent experience) in process operation or chemical material management.
- Awareness of and adherence to HSE standards & procedures.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
- Able to multi-task under pressure and apply logic to decision making.
- Demonstrates a good work ethic and flexibility in reacting to change, seizing opportunities to drive results.
- Adequate fitness level to undertake the role.
- Flexible to work shift patterns and weekends.
