Job Description
We have an excellent opportunity for a Principal Scientist to join our Bioscience team. Based at our Jealott's Hill International Research Centre, you will work with a multi-disciplinary project team, employing proteome-wide profiling methods to characterise chemical perturbagen-induced changes in mammalian cell lines to enhance our understanding of molecular toxicological mechanisms to improve toxicity predictions and human safety. This role requires technical expertise in proteomics-based mass spectrometry, critical thinking, and effective communication skills to drive the proteomic component of this multi-omic endeavor.
Qualifications and required experience
- Qualified to Ph.D. or equivalent experience (minimum MSc plus relevant work experience) in biochemistry, molecular biology, proteomics, or related field.
- Expert knowledge of quantitative mass spectrometry-based proteomic workflows.
- Proficiency in bioinformatics and statistical tools to process and interpret quantitative proteomic data, identifying trends, patterns, and meaningful biological insights.
- Hands on experience of instrument set-up and data-acquisition.
- Ability and desire to work as part of a team and to work without technical supervision.
