Please note - this job can be worked on a Hybrid Basis, with 2-3 Days per week in our Bracknell Office.

This role involves working within a customer focussed support team, responsible for providing a high quality, proactive support management service to a large multiclient community. The ITSS Network Team responsibility for ensuring the effective operation and availability of the Network infrastructure for internal and external customer networks, located on site at customer premises, within the Corporate Data Centre and Server rooms as well as office locations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Resolve incidents promptly, manage infrastructure capacity, and minimize incidents through proactive problem-solving along side the Service Desk Team within the contracted SLA timescales
  • Specialising in configuration and support of network infrastructure. Using technical skills to resolve faults with all elements of the supported Infrastructure and provide customers with high level technical consultancy
  • To proactively manage the complete IT systems infrastructure including the Network, Web Access, VPNs and firewalls.
  • Execute change/project work efficiently for clients, specializing in network configuration and support.
  • Collaborate closely with teams to meet SLAs, deliver timely projects, and provide high-level technical support.
  • Drive down incident numbers through proactive problem management and present system performance reports.
  • Ensure timely service restoration, proactive system monitoring, maintenance, backups, installing patches, upgrades and strategic infrastructure capacity planning and management.
  • Update and optimize procedures,
  • Monitor procedures, review and update as necessary. Identify and produce new procedures as appropriate
  • Be part of the “on call” rota on a 24x7 basis and working out of hours when required

Qualifications

Essential

  • Relevant network qualifications such as CCNA/CCNP
  • Previous/current experience working with Cisco & Palo Alto technologies with relevant and demonstrable experience in a large network environment
  • Understanding of network routing protocols.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing/customer service skills
  • Able to obtain or currently hold the relevant security clearances (SC and/or NPPV)
  • Full, current driving license

Desirables

  • Experience with the following network technologies Pulse Secure Traffic Managers GemAlto / Thales Encryptors
  • Network Automation 
  • Knowledge of network monitoring and backup tools
  • Awareness of recognised security practices and standards

Candidates must be able to demonstrate a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK. Documentary evidence will be required.
