We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical & Audit Team Manager to join our dynamic team at SGS. As the Technical & Audit Team Manager, you will play a key role in leading our technical and audit teams, ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, and compliance across our clients' operations in the United Kingdom.
Responsibilities:
To plan and conduct professional management system audits in accordance SGS’ procedures to enable the delivery of assessment and certification services that meet customer requirements and appropriate accreditation standards.
Lead and manage a team of technical specialists and auditors, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the effective delivery of food safety and quality assurance services.
Oversee the planning and execution of food safety and quality audits, including HACCP, BRC, SQF, and other relevant standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and requirements, and providing timely and effective solutions to address their challenges.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the technical and audit teams, identifying opportunities to streamline processes, enhance service delivery, and optimize resource allocation.
Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging issues in food safety and quality assurance, and communicate relevant updates to team members and clients.
Prepare and present reports, presentations, and other materials to internal stakeholders and clients, summarizing audit findings, trends, and recommendations.
Qualifications
First degree, or tertiary equivalent - i.e. BA/BSc, HND in Food or bioscience related discipline
Lead Auditor Qualification or ability to soon achieve
Recognised HACCP (minimum of 2 days duration with examination)
BRC Understanding Requirements Courses with Merit pass
Skills & Knowledge
Demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of BRCGS management systems, standards, BRCGS compliance and auditing techniques, HACCP/risk analysis and certification requirements
Must have a detailed understanding of the standards for which audits/technical reviews are being undertaken
A solid understanding of accreditation requirements
IT literate i.e. competent in the use of MS Office applications
Experience
Minimum of 5 years Food (manufacturing/retail/Environmental health) quality experience
Minimum of 5 years certification experience
Experience of working under own initiative and in planning and prioritising workloads
Technical review of certification audit
