Job Title: Sample Reception Technician
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Job Location: Cambridge - Bar Hill

Main Purpose of Role
To assist in the day-to-day effectively, accurately and efficiently processing of samples collected through our designated courier service. Processing the workload in sample reception, in accordance with documented procedures, as well as tasks assigned by senior staff.
To participate in training, as required by the business’ needs.
Assist in other areas of the business when required.
Be a proactive member of the sample reception team by providing different views on the current processes, to assist the Sample Reception Manager in streamlining the day-to-day responsibilities of the sample reception team.
Key Accountabilities;
Responsible for logging samples in the laboratory onto our booking in system in accordance with customer and company objectives.
To ensure samples processed are prioritised within the workload, to help the laboratories maintain the time sensitivity of the products.
Promptly inform the senior staff of any difficulties that may impact on KPI’s in order to ensure remedial action is taken and/or customer expectations are managed.
Complete tasks on a daily basis, as assigned by senior staff.
Complete compulsory training when required.
Qualifications
Essential:
Good verbal and written communication
Timeliness and urgency
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Software, and general computer practice
High focus on precision and accuracy
Able to work under pressure
Able to adopt a flexible approach to work and react effectively to a rapidly changing environment
GCSE grade A to C (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
Full driving license.
