Job Description

  • Responsible for the provision of the highest standards of engineering on flow measurement services to SGS clients primarily within the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico regions as directed.
  • Working individually, or as a member of a larger project team, contribute to the delivery of the department’s workload to ensure effective delivery of project activities within agreed timescales and budget and to meet client expectations and maximize revenue.
  • Review all final reports, Perform Assessments, Ad-Hoc activities, Certification witnessing activities and Provide recommendation for improvement.
  • Undertake consultancy assignments, mentored and supervised by a more senior consultant where appropriate, and ensure objectives of the assignment are met within agreed timescale and budget to meet client expectations and maximize revenue.
  • Undertake site based inspection, verification, and audit work as directed, to fulfill individual project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain essential metering and measurement skills through practice, guidance of peers, self-study, and external or on the job training to allow progression to a more senior role within the department.

  • Maintain organized and auditable systems of work in line with company QA procedures.
  • Manage personal workload to ensure effective delivery across multiple projects and assignments in line with agreed priorities and short term objectives.
  • Continue to raise the profile of SGS Measurement & Calibration business through the provision of high quality added value measurement services.
  • Liaison with Operational manager with respect to new/additional consultancy project work scopes.
  • Assist with measurement training and competency as required.
  • Have a good knowledge base in flow measurement covering energy within E&P, Refining and chemicals etc.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of local, national and international measurement practices.
  • Work closely with, and take direction from, team members, peers, or line manager to achieve timely and effective delivery of services to meet business objectives.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Must have experience of working in a multi disciplined, operational, engineering environment where core competencies and skills are routinely required and utilized.
  • Must be able to interface with internal / external clients and review, approve and provide detailed technical reports and feedback.
  • Must be able to demonstrate problem solving abilities from initial fault diagnosis through to corrective action and implementation.
  • Must be able to demonstrate effective communication and supervisory experience in an operational environment.
  • Minimum of 15 years experience in Oil & Gas operations covering measurement and instrumentation.
  • Have exposure to metering/measurement techniques covering oil, gas, water injection & utilities.
  • Ability to plan, co-ordinate & project manage various Projects & Consultancy sectors.
  • Experience of preparing detailed procedures & documentation. Knowledge of auditing procedures & techniques would be desirable.

Qualifications

  • Degree/ HND in Engineering or related science based subject.
  • Practical experience in Oil & Gas Industry including exposure to process engineering, measurement, or instrumentation domain.
  • Minimum 15 years experience of O&G Measurement Systems.
  • Chartered/Incoprated Member of related institute if possible
