We are now recruiting for an experienced Senior AWS Engineer to join a small well-established team of cloud infrastructure engineers making use of infrastructure as code deliver AWS solutions across areas of technical services.
Reporting to the AWS Infrastructure Team Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for helping to deliver continuous improvement in the Infrastructure function, building close ties with the business and broader technology function. This is a growing function where you can help on our journey as we adopt a cloud first, fully automated architectural approach where the teams are enabled from ideation to delivery. The solutions and processes implemented are key to ensure we remain operationally efficient, regulatorily compliant and provide a best-in-class service for our customers and people.
What does the job involve?
- Contribute to the design, management & maintenance of our AWS hosted infrastructure covering our dev, UAT and production environments
- Provide a resilient, scalable and secure platform
- Working alongside Technical Leads, Engineers and testers from Project inception to create and implement project deliveries.
- Being actively involved in exciting new research projects and proof of concepts
- Deliver to the Maintenance plan
- 3rd line Incident and Service request resolution
- Problem management and root cause analysis
- Provide internal guidance and support to colleagues regarding AWS best practice
- Ensure that all duties are carried out with the aim of protecting customers and improving customer experience.
- Supporting and enabling the business to achieve its regulatory requirements, including consumer duty.
What we're looking for:
- Full understanding of the development lifecycle & methodologies
- Maintain and enhance the existing automation frameworks
- Expertise in CI/CD using tools such as Jenkins, Git, AWS CodePipeline – build, test, and deploy in an automated pipeline or workflow.
- Experience of delivering & maintaining an application stack on AWS
- Experience of delivering with Microsoft Windows Server and Linux server configuration and management
- Knowledge of Typescript being used for CDK frameworks
- Knowledge of container creation and management
- Knowledge of source control, i.e. Bitbucket, GitHub
- Experience with micro services architecture
- Credible and professional

- Self-starting and able to work on own initiative
- High attention to detail
- Driving delivery and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively across people of all levels

- Starting salary £75,000 - £85,000 (DOE)
