Senior Member of Technical Staff (Platform Team) at Illumio

Job Descrption
• Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent degree,
• 5+ years of experience building distributed & scalable software and systems,
• Passion for software development and a willingness to constantly learn, keep up with technological trends, and work in a team setting,
• Experience building API-based webservices in a higher-level language and a desire to learn Ruby,
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis or similar database and caching technologies,
• AWS / Azure /GCP cloud experience:,
• Extensively used one of these platforms at the API/programming level,
• Experience with networking and security controls is a plus,
• Experience delivering a containerized service running on Kubernetes in public clouds is a plus,
• Experience with networking and network security is a plus
What the job involves
• You will develop platform components and microservices for a distributed, resilient, and highly scalable multi-tenant system,
• This system processes real-time network... telemetry and computes adaptive security policies for millions of servers, endpoints, and cloud workloads,
• You will write code primarily in Ruby, use PostgreSQL and Redis in the data layer, and leverage Kubernetes in public clouds for our infrastructure,
• We welcome engineers with backgrounds in any high-level language and a desire to learn,
• You will own the entire software development lifecycle for critical features and services,
• You will partner with Product Management to refine requirements, own functional, integration, and performance testing to ensure our products are robust and resilient, and work with CloudOps to ensure the successful deployment and customer adoption of your work,
• You will develop a deep understanding of the fundamental problems our customers need solved through interaction with stakeholders and peers,
