As a result, we have a new opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our team at North Shields.
So, what's the mission?
You will work closely with the Site Manager to exceed KPIs by ensuring that business objectives are cascaded through to the manufacturing teams, engaging the ‘hearts and minds’ of the company’s employees to create and sustain a pro-active culture in all disciplines across the business. You will also manage all manufacturing activities and relevant requirements within designated departments and provide leadership to the Operations Team Leaders to deliver company KPI’s.
You will manage, coach, train and support the Operations Team Leaders to ensure the Operations team focus on Safety, Quality, Service and Cost whilst providing support with continuous improvement and effective leadership.
What are the mission-critical skills?
- Experience of operating in a medium to large manufacturing site with responsibility for multi-disciplined team members
- High level of written & verbal communication skills, both in one-to-one and in a group setting
- Demonstrable experience of driving and improving site performance
- Experience in maximising the potential of others, including development and performance management
- Brand & Quality focused
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, MRP systems, or similar packages)
Bonus points if you have:
- IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
- Professional Qualifications, e.g., ILM and Lean Six Sigma.
- Experience in implementing continuous improvement & lean manufacturing techniques
