Job Description

We are looking for a smart, passionate individual to become part of a friendly Service Desk team to support on Night Shifts. This is an exciting opportunity to work for an established business with a great reputation within the marketplace.

What will the role involve?

In this role you will be working to support our clients by carrying out time-critical checks on computer software and processes whilst delivering efficient support to our customers.

  • Taking first line support calls and dealing with queries for a range of Sopra Banking Software - Specialized Finance products
  • Performing online backups and application monitoring as required
  • To process high value electronic payment to various system interfaces
  • Application user management and maintenance
  • Performing application and change management upgrades
  • To liaise with other SF teams worldwide and resolve internal queries
  • Incident management and escalation
  • Monitor physical and logical security
  • Application testing of new functionality and software developments
  • Carrying out Linux/Oracle server patch upgrades
  • Application Disaster Recovery testing

You will also handle daily computer security, software releases, technology upgrades and help resolve system alerts, liaising with teams across our global organisation.

The Service Desk Technician team operate a 24/7 12 hour shift pattern over a 10 day period.

Shift pattern:

  • 2 days: 7am-7pm working from Bristol Office (flexible)
  • 1 day off then 2 nights 7pm-7am then 3 days off - night shifts are fully remote.

Salary: £25,000, + shift allowances

Qualifications

We are interested in hearing from you, if you have most of the following attributes:

  • Previous IT service desk experience is not essential, we are open to applications from those with a passion for IT and high-quality customer service
  • You’ll also need to be a good team player and comfortable in taking ownership and making decisions of critical issues and escalating them correctly.
  • Comfortable on working alone at times under pressure.
  • If you have previous IT service desk experience, experience with Linux operating systems, AWS and / or Oracle database we would love to hear from you!

You may have experience of the following: Service Desk Technician, 1st Line Support, Helpdesk, Service Desk Technician, Helpdesk Technician, 2nd Line, IT Support Engineer, Systems Administrator, Network Engineer, etc.
