Transport Team Leader
Salary: up to £37,500 plus quarterly bonus and company benefits
40 hours - Any 5 out of 7 days (1 in 4 weekends)
Day shift: 02:00am -10:00am/ 10:00am - 18:00pm - flexibility to cover both shifts to meet business requirements

A Brand new and exciting opportunity to work as a Leader within the Transport Team at our Kent Frozen Foods Depot based at Aylesford in Kent. If you’re an experienced people manager who has knowledge on Transport compliance, then we want to hear from you!
We are looking for an experienced Transport Team Leader with a passion for leadership who can support the Transport manager to lead and motivate our driver colleagues. You’ll be involved in a wide variety of tasks from HR, keeping a well-rounded approach to employment related issues to ensuring our drivers are taking regular breaks to keep within the working time directive to using your local area knowledge should a drop need rerouting with support from our planners. The position will be customer facing both internal and external we need someone with an ability to resolve any issues to ensure our reliable reputation is maintained.
To join us in this role, you need to be keen and willing to take accountability of our fleet and workforce for legal compliance, route planning, Tachograph downloads, reduction of infringements, driver debriefs, hygiene, health and safety, vehicle maintenance, and managing drivers. You’ll need to have knowledge from CPC management and strong understanding of transport compliance to coach, support and develop the driver colleagues, (Holding your own HGV Class 2 driving licence is preferred). Our team will look to you to reinforcing the importance of getting the job done timely and safely. This is a varied role where you will be not only be ensuring all costs are in line with the budgetary requirements but also acting as the lead person in creating the correct environment for our colleagues. Leading by example you’ll set and maintaining standards in service, health, safety, and compliance.
